Installation, grass, roots, soil, photograph

The work combines a photograph of an abandoned watering trough from a garden in Langenbruck, Switzerland with a carpet-like object of grass that grew within it after humans left.

Although nature exists in a different time dimension, it also has the ability to "return" everything to its natural state. The strip of grass and densely intertwined roots, lifted by the artist from the bottom of the watering trough, captures the precise moment when, despite its independent and natural origins, it still perfectly replicates the form of a man-made object.
